It’s great
to have you here!
I believe a good relationship is the most important foundation for any therapeutic journey – which is why I’d like to share a bit about myself and my practice with you.
Growing up
My learning was shaped by my parents` believe in myself and my sisters that each of us would go their own way. Navigating the German school system eventually led me to the completion of a Bachelor of Tourism in England. My search for understanding social issues and the history of my country led me deeper into academic research, where I developed a growing interest in societal change.
While based in New Zealand, my research explored societal aspects of disasters such as the 2004 tsunami. Along the way, I began teaching at university level, sparking a deeper interest in how people learn. After completing my PhD, I shifted my focus to understanding teaching and learning, particularly how to encourage critical thinking. Later, while living in England, I earned a Diploma in Teaching and Learning and transitioned into leading and developing student programs.

My Path to Learning Therapy
Fast forward twelve years during which Switzerland has become home and I have become a mother of three, a story teller and a doll maker. Learning suddenly had a new perspective. Reliving primary school through my kids` experiences in today`s system and social problems revealed the importance of actively engaging with learning from a different perspective - understanding how we can instill a joy for learning, foster a drive for lifelong growth, and cultivate an awareness that one’s attitude toward learning shapes the way we live our lives.
This is where learning therapy entered my life. Switzerland stands out in its approach to Learning Therapy, emphasizing the need to integrate a therapeutic element. While learning coaches are widespread, and some countries blur the distinction between learning therapists and learning coaches, the Institute of Learning Therapy strongly advocates for a comprehensive approach. It emphasizes the integration of psychology, pedagogy, and therapy in Learning Therapy training. This includes self-reflection, psychological modules, and in-depth explorations into different forms of therapy.

About The Learning Therapist
With The Learning Therapist practice, I bring together my experience in higher education, my expanding knowledge about learning therapy, my passion for learning and my dedication to helping people to approach learning from a new perspective and let go of fixed mindsets.

I understand how challenging it is to balance imposed stress, expectations, schoolwork, and the unique struggles of a generation that grows up with mobile-based rather than play-based childhood experiences. In addition, I have worked with young adults struggeling with motivation, procrastination and learning blockades.

With The Learning Therapist I offer a unique approach with the underlying aim to spread knowledge about this important form of therapy. Offereing online and offline therapy sessions, I want to give today`s busy families the flexibility they need.
